Shampoo & Conditioner

Cleaning your hair, getting rid of all the dirt and grime is extremely important.

The dirt in your hair can weigh the strands of your hair down. Hence to keep you hair in a desired style, it’s necessary that you clean them.

Which shampoo should I use?

There are a lot of shampoos available in the market and each claims to do different things.

Most shampoos available on drugstore shelves are not good for your hair

This is mainly because of their high sulphate content.

The two ingredients: Sodium Lauryl Sulphate and Sodium Laureth Sulphate are not exactly beneficiary to your hair.

These act as detergents which strip off all your natural hair oils, leaving them dry and crunchy after a few hours of shampooing. Several sulphate free shampoos are available on online stores.

If you choose to use drugstore shampoos, go with mild low-chemical shampoos like baby shampoos which contain low or most cases no sulphate.

Using drug store shampoos won’t make you bald. Since they have a high sulphate content, use them in moderation.

How often should I shampoo my hair?

You should not shampoo your hair daily. Shampooing removes all the natural oils in your hair.

You should not shampoo your hair more than thrice a week.

If you feel your hair is unclean and difficult to style, use a dry shampoo. Dry shampoos are available in powder form and spray form which can be applied directly to dry hair without using any water. They have the same effect as that of a shampoo

If you have an oily scalp and choose to shampoo daily, try using mild shampoos like baby shampoos.
